Washington DC (October 10, 2012) – Beginning in October, just in time for fall and winter whiskey lovers to enjoy, two of the most celebrated brands in the DC area – J&G Steakhouse at the W Washington DC and Catoctin Creek Distilling Company, Loudoun County’s first distillery since before prohibition – have announced the debut of ‘515’ – a custom handcrafted whiskey produced by Catoctin Creek and made exclusively for J&G Steakhouse. This is the first collaboration of this caliber for either notable brand.

Great minds think alike and that’s exactly how the story goes when it comes to J&G Steakhouse and Catoctin Creek’s recent collaboration to create the one-of-a-kind proprietary whiskey blend. Following an exclusive event hosted by J&G Steakhouse’s Sommelier Guy Golan and Catoctin Creek owner Scott Harris, Golan and Harris began to brainstorm and experiment with the possibility of crafting a private label whiskey. The name – 515 – represents J&G Steakhouse’s prominent and historic address – one of which places it within steps from one of the country’s most famous landmarks - the White House. Showcasing two of Catoctin Creek’s most popular and award-winning organic and kosher spirits – Mosby’s Spirit and Roundstone Rye – Harris and Guy decided to begin testing and tasting results by combining both of these products. Each bottle of ‘515’ is aged under two years in new oak barrels, and distilled and bottled by hand. Each bottle then comes numbered revealing glimpses of just how much time, care and energy went into crafting this rare product.

“The 515 blend was created to pay homage to the historic location of 515 15th Street NW, Washington DC”, says J&G Steakhouse Sommelier Guy Golan. “During a recent exclusive event we hosted at J&G Steakhouse with Catoctin Creek, we blended Mosby’s Spirit and Roundstone Rye to the approval of an intimate bar crowd, until we achieved the results we wanted; an exclusive whiskey showcasing the unique quality of Catoctin Creek’s organic spirits.” "This was an exciting and creative opportunity to look at our products in a whole new way", said Scott and Becky Harris, founders and master distillers at Catoctin Creek Distillery. “The tasting notes of this 100% rye blend reveals rich flavors of stone fruit, sugar cane, and leather. It is a truly lovely spirit!"

Catoctin Creek’s 515 custom blend is available only at J&G Steakhouse served in the picturesque main dining room, the cozy Wine Bar, on the patio – recently named as one of the Best Outdoor Dining venues by FoodandWine.com, and also in POV – the W Hotel’s sky-high lounge with beautiful bird’s eye views of the White House. Taking the intricate flavors of the custom blend to the next level, Belinda Chang, Beverage Director for Culinary Concepts Hospitality Group, will be creating and launching a series of handcrafted cocktails showcasing 515. Executive Chef Philippe Reininger is also looking forward to experimenting with 515 to further enhance his impressive line-up of sweet and savory fall dishes of which intertwine French and Asian flavors.

As Catoctin Creek Distillery says … “Think Global … Drink Local!”
