Burns Night Dinner at Oatlands


Save the date!  Burns Night is a tradition dating back a hundred years or more celebrating Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns.  If you've been to one, you'll know what a rousing good time it is, and if you've not been before, you're in for a real treat.  Dinner will be a formal Scottish affair, with roasted lamb, neeps and tatties (potatoes and turnips), and of course, the traditional haggis!  (Be brave, young soul, and try some!)  Oh, and lest we forget, there will be whisky flowing, provided by Catoctin Creek Distillery.


Haggis (a must for tradition!)
Stuffed local leg of lamb with spinach, garlic, and brioche crumbs
Tatties (whipped potatoes)
Neeps (mashed turnips)
Family style mixed greens with white balsamic vinaigrette
Authentic Trifle
Non alcoholic drinks (iced tea, coffee, and tea)
Whisky and wine for purchase by the drink

Kilted attire is strongly encouraged but not required. Bring a favorite poem or song to share.  The night will not soon be forgotten!

The event will take place on January 25, at 6:30pm at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Virginia.
