A Brief History of the Cocktail (A VA250 Event)

April 24, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Catoctin Creek is celebrating the VA250 anniversary with another historical event: The Brief History of the Cocktail!

Come with us into a journey that dates back to 1804 as we explore our growing country, and the drinks that slaked the thirst of those early Americans.

This lecture will include the history of early drinks to modern day. Three cocktails per person will be provided as part of the event price. Sorry, but no non-alcoholic options are available for this class.

Unlike our popular Art of the Cocktail classes, in this class, guests will not make their own drinks. We will serve you!

Expect to cover:

  • Early 1800's (juleps, slings, toddies, and cocktails)
  • Late 1800's (vermouth based beverages)
  • Prohibition (cocktails take on a European accent)
  • Modern day (1960's to today)

Scott Harris, our Founder and General Manager, will be leading this lecture for the night. Just $39 for three stimulating cocktails and lecture.
