美國維吉尼亞州精釀威士忌品牌鹿鳴溪 Catoctin Creek 首次登陸台灣,口感令人驚喜的裸麥威士忌

Lin Fangru (林芳如), writing for Xinmedia in Taiwan, does a very comprehensive article on Catoctin Creek, and our launch in Taiwan in December.  Lin writes (translated by Scott):

Catoctin Creek officially took the stage this year and quickly attracted market attention as soon as it was launched. More and more drinkers are pleasantly surprised after their first try: "I didn't expect rye whiskey to be so soft and clean!" In the past, most people's impression of rye whiskey was that it was spicy and harsh, with a heavier ending, while Catoctin Creek has a completely different profile. The first taste is smooth and naturally sweet, and the ending is clean but not harsh.

The key to making Catoctin Creek very different from ordinary rye whiskey is that the distillery uses traditional local rye  (heritage grains) with a very historical context.

These ryes are grown in the Northern Neck of Virginia and are a small number of preserved, unindustrialized native species. Its rare and limited grain cultivation, with purer natural grain aroma, deep sweet flavor and detailed herbaceous atmosphere, has therefore become the most irreplaceable core of the Catoctin Creek whiskey style, forming a unique and clear flavor.
