A Tasting of History & Whiskeys at Aldie Mill

BACK AFTER A SEVERAL YEAR HIATUS! This event was once of our most popular events when the director of Aldie Mill retired, ending the events several years ago. Well, we're back! Space is extremely limited, so do not miss your chance to enjoy this wonderful event!

Join us for a unique and intimate evening with old friends and new as we taste five exquisite whiskeys paired with delicious food, all in the historic 19th century Aldie Mill.

Our meal for the evening will be a five-course affair, pairing special foods with each of the five whiskeys, and prepared by the best local chefs. Courses will include cheeses, appetizer, salad, main course, & dessert. For those who choose, you may end the evening with a cigar to accompany your final dram.

Special VA250 Celebration

This year, in celebration of 250 years of the Commonwealth of Virginia, we have some special offerings in the whiskey department:

  • Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye 92 Proof Distiller's Edition - A faithful reproduction of what Virginia rye whisky was like in the mid-1800s.
  • Catoctin Creek "Little River Rye" - A private barrel rye whiskey that was privately made by one of our Cornerstone Club members, and generously offered for this dinner.
  • VA250 Commemorative Whiskey - from the one-time-only commemorative release - A four grain whisky made from Virginia Distillery Company, Catoctin Creek, Iron Clad Distillery, and Reservoir Distillery
  • VA250 Commemorative Rum - from the one-time-only commemorative release - A blend of Virginia rums from Vitae, Virago, and Belmont Farm
  • VA250 Commemorative Gin - from the one-time-only commemorative release - A special London-Dry style of rum with Virginia botanical top-notes, including pawpaw, gensing, and rose (plants one may encounter walking the A.T.)

This may be your ONLY chance to taste these commemorative spirits, as only 2000 packs were made, and they're likely to be sold out by the dinner.

This event will be made even more special with the addition of a tour and grinding demonstration of Aldie Mill by award-wining miller Mike Devine. Loudoun County’s own Catoctin Creek Distillery owner Scott Harris will provide commentary on each of the whiskeys, and local historian Rich Gillespie will share stories throughout the evening of the mill’s history, including the Civil War adventures at the mill and in and around the village of Aldie.

This event is HUGELY popular, and space is extremely limited. We usually sell out by July, so do not miss your chance to enjoy this wonderful event! $125 per person, includes dinner, cigars, whiskey and an enlightening historical program.
