Roundstone Rye

Our lovely 100% rye spirit is aged it in new Minnesota white oak casks for a period of just under two years, yielding a very special rye whisky!  The hardest of all whiskeys to produce, rye whisky is an old time favorite that is new once again.  It has a delicious woody taste, with notes of caramel, rich butter toffee, and just a hint of lemon in the nose.

Awarded silver medals at the 2011 American Distilling Institute Whiskey Competition, the 2010 New York International Spirits Competition and the Beverage Testing Institute, Catoctin Creek Organic Roundstone Rye® is one of the few organic whiskeys in the entire world.  Roundstone Rye is a superb sipping whisky, a great mixer in Manhattans, or any recipe calling for Canadian or rye whisky.

Delicious mixed, on the rocks, or neat.  Try some this evening!

Catoctin Creek Organic Roundstone Rye® - 92 Proof

"The release of a premium, 92-proof version of their award-winning 80-proof Roundstone Rye Whisky, hitting shelves in May, is recognizably Roundstone but intensified, with the caramel, maple, and spice tones highlighted and pumped up into something richer."
– Washington Post, April 30, 2014

Roundstone Rye 92 Proof

This whisky is the culmination of several years of planning.  "For a few years now, we've been putting whisky away for storage," remarked Becky Harris, Chief Distiller and President of Catoctin Creek Distilling Company.  "We pulled some of the more interesting barrels from the back of the barn and decided to release these at a higher proof:  a whisky specially curated for flavor, while still being remarkably smooth, as is our existing 80 proof Roundstone."

"We are very excited about this new product," said Scott Harris, Founder and General Manager of Catoctin Creek.  "We discussed this new product with customers like Jack Rose Whisky Saloon, The Passenger, and our distributors, and all agreed that this would be a great new product for the distillery.  And what's cool, since we're a small distillery, we can be responsive to this kind of market input."

– Beverage Testing Institute, July 27, 2011

Score: 89 "A great gin begins and ends with the question, 'can this be my daily standard gin?' Watershed Gin fits that bill perfectly."
– Matt Colglazier, American Craft Spirits, September 28, 2010

"A spicy, woody and soft aroma. Licorice and anise are full-on in the first taste and big in the finish. Soft juniper. A good mouthfeel and full body."
– Modern Distillery Age, November 18, 2011

Watershed Gin

Paying respect to the Chesapeake Bay watershed, in which our beloved Catoctin Creek does flow, this gin is a bit of a watershed itself.

Distilled from organic rye grain, with a secret recipe of organic herbs and spices, Catoctin Creek Organic Watershed Gin® is unlike any gin you've tried. Amazingly complex, with a rye base that shines through subtle citrus and cinnamon notes, essences of fresh cut hay, and of course a crisp juniper character.  Together, they make Watershed Gin a fine cocktail mixer.

Try it with the traditional tonic and a slice of lime (or a Meyer Lemon, for a real treat!). Or mix it into your favorite summertime refreshers.

Mosby's Spirit

John S. MosbyJohn S. Mosby was a Civil War colonel and leader of a local band of rangers called Mosby's Raiders. Called the "Gray Ghost" for his elusiveness during the war, John S. Mosby was fiercely independent and ever loyal to his beloved Virginia.

Catoctin Creek Organic Mosby's Spirit® recalls the tradition of clear grain spirits common in the 19th century. This spirit hearkens back to the fierce independence that forged our nation despite the conflict that almost destroyed it.

Catoctin Creek Organic Mosby's Spirit is a multiple award winning, delicious rye "white whisky", with a velvety smooth, sweet and undeniably pleasing cereal taste with floral notes and citrus. If we aged this stuff, it'd be our Roundstone Rye whisky. But unaged, it is just as heavenly.

Awarded silver medals at the 2010 New York International Spirits Competition and the Beverage Testing Institute, a "Very Good" recommendation by F. Paul Pacult's Ultimate Spirits Challenge, and bronze medals in the American Distilling Institute 2010 and 2011 Whiskey Competitions, Catoctin Creek Organic Mosby's Spirit is something special.  We're really proud of this one!

Mosby's Spirit is incredibly versatile as a mixer, giving a new grainy sweetness to traditional vodka or rum cocktails. It can also be used in many recipes calling for whisky. Mix a little in with some fresh squeezed lemonade for a cool summer treat. Honestly, the possibilities are endless.

Catoctin Creek 1757® Virginia Brandy

1757 Virginia Brandy

Brandy is an old world tradition--our European ancestors drank brandy after dinner for its soothing and warming qualities. Imagine settling in with a nice glass of warm brandy, while sitting by a fire with your favorite novel.  Or try adding it to a warm glass of eggnog.  Delicious!

Catoctin Creek 1757® Virginia Brandy is Virginia's first commercial grape brandy since the establishment of the Commonwealth.  Made from the finest locally-grown Virginia wine grapes, it is distilled and aged in premium French Bordeaux oak barrels for at least two years. Catoctin Creek Brandy is a fine sipping brandy unlike run-of-the-mill brandy on the shelves today.

Try some, and you'll see. This is fine stuff that warms the heart.

Catoctin Creek Pearousia®

Pearousia

Available once again...

Pearousia® is a very special collaboration between Fabbioli Cellars and Catoctin Creek. Doug Fabbioli, owner and vintner at Fabbioli Cellars, produced a lovely pear wine, and we distilled it into brandy. After being casked in oak for a time, this pear brandy has emerged as a truly lovely and unique offering, and our first fruit spirit.

This pear brandy maintains the fresh aroma of the fruit, where you can smell the light and musky elements of pear intertwined with the caramel and vanilla of the oak. With your first sip, you taste the sweetness and flesh of the pear fruit, and the aftertaste leaves a long lingering and pleasant flavor of the spirit. Honestly, Pearousia is simply divine!

Pearousia is an extremely limited release local pear brandy, produced from seasonal fruit offerings, and will be sold in 375 ml bottles so that it is accessible to more people. Only 600 bottles will be made this season.

Catoctin Creek Short Hill Mountain® Peach Brandy

Short Hill Mountain lies in far western Loudoun County, just west of the Catoctin Valley.  The region was once famous for Quakers, Civil War skirmishes, and the occasional bottle of homemade peach brandy.

Catoctin Creek Short Hill Mountain Peach Brandy is made from local western Loudoun peaches, distilled, aged and bottled at the peak of perfection.  Think "peach cobbler" in a glass.

Loudoun summer memories feature thick, soupy, evening air, the lazy buzz of cicadas, and the lush juiciness of a perfectly ripe peach. We hope this limited-release Short Hill Mountain Peach Brandy evokes that perfect August evening, wherever you may be.
